MAHONING TOWNSHIP, Pa. – One person has died after an accident involving two cars in Carbon County on Saturday. 
The Carbon County coroner said that it responded to a crash in the area of 2897 East Blakeslee Boulevard in Mahoning Township. The crash involved two vehicles and the person who died was the operator of one, according to the coroner.
The person was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Erika Reinheimer. The person has been identified but their identity is being withheld to allow the family to grieve. 
The incident remains under active investigation by the Carbon County Coroner’s Office, in conjunction with the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania State Police – Lehighton Station.
