Two people are in the hospital after a crash caused an interstate sign fell on another car while the person was driving in Charlotte.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department, firefighters responded to a crash on I-77 south on Friday night.

When they arrived, they found that an overhead interstate sign had collapsed onto a car and trapped a driver underneath it.
According to the Charlotte Fire Department, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said the sign collapsed after a suspected drunk driver hit one of the structures the sign was on.
First responders said two people, including the driver of the car that was crushed by the sign, are in the hospital with serious injuries.
