A food delivery driver had his vehicle stolen early New Year’s Day, according to a Trenton Police Department release.
A report noted that  on January 1, 2025, at 12:13 a.m., the Trenton Police were dispatched to 20 Furman Street on a report of a Theft in Progress. Police spoke to the victim, who stated that while delivering food in the area of Hills Place, an unidentified black male stole his vehicle.
Approximately twenty minutes later, the car was observed in the area of Oakland Street and Hoffman Avenue by Officers Paul Santos and Jovanni Romero, who attempted to initiate a motor vehicle stop. The driver refused to stop and fled toward the area of Roger Gardens, where it struck an unoccupied parked car.
After the crash arrestee, Rashaun Walker, fled on foot and was taken into police custody by officers after a brief foot pursuit. Walker was transported to Trenton Police Headquarters, where he was charged accordingly.
No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The victim was issued a summons for leaving a vehicle running unattended.
