Fully electric models became the most popular purchase in Ukraine for the first time, comprising a third of September’s new car sales – compared to 15.3% last year. Last month, sales of passenger electric cars hit a historic high – 12,113 units were purchased, which is 5.9% more than in August and 89.2% more than in September last year. Vehicles with gasoline engines are in second place, with their market share decreasing from 36.8% to 31.2%. Hybrids accounted for 20.3% of the market, down from 21.5% in September last year. The market share of diesel cars fell from 26% to 15.3% over the year. Overall, Ukraine’s new car market reached an all-time high point in September, with over 6,800 new passenger cars purchased – 1% more than in August and 20% more than in September 2024. Since the start of the year, 52,900 new passenger cars have been registered, which is 0.3% less than last year. Additionally, demand for new trucks and used passenger cars has grown significantly in Ukraine. In September, 1,113 new commercial trucks and special vehicles were sold in the country, representing a 4% increase compared to last September, and a 19% rise over August. Since the beginning of 2025, the Ukrainian fleet has added 8,650 trucks and special vehicles, marking a 7% decrease compared to last year.
