The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls for vehicles last week, including notices for over 1.4 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles.

The NHTSA website also allows you to search for recalls by your vehicle identification number, or VIN. Here’s what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Oct. 20 to Oct. 26:
Ford recalled a slate of vehicles as the rearview camera in them may display a distorted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
The recall is primarily based on the performance of the rearview camera function on vehicles in thefield as evidenced by the number of reports NHTSA, according to the recall report.

Dealers are to inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed in October. The final remedy is anticipated to be available in June 2026.

Stellantis recalled certain 2018-2026 Ram ProMaster vehicles as the electrical circuit for the radiator fan may overheat.
The vehicles, which were built for fleet sale, may have been assembled with a cooling fan module that is susceptible to premature bearing wear and inadequate fuse protection, according to the recall report. The report says that demanding fleet use can cause premature bearing wear, which, combined with inadequate fuse protection, may lead to a vehicle fire.
The remedy is currently under development. Notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed Nov. 20, with follow-up letters anticipated when the remedy is available.

Tesla recalled certain 2024-2026 Cybertrucks because their front parking lights are too bright.
The recalled trucks are operating software before 2025.38.3, and the vehicle controller software may cause the lights to exceed the maximum light output allowed, potentially affecting the vision of other drivers.
Tesla has released a free over-the-air software update, and notification letters are to be sent on Dec. 13.

Stellantis recalled certain 2023-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles as a software error in an over-the-air update may result in a loss of drive power.
The recall report points to incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module and the Hybrid Control Processor, causing the processor to perform a reset.
The remedy is currently under development, and notification letters are to be mailed on Nov. 25.
Affected vehichles: 24,238
General Motors recalled certain 2025-2026 Cadillac Optic and 2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles equipped with 21-inch Continental all-season tires, as the tires may experience partial or full tread detachment.
The tires, which are being recalled by Continental, were produced with a nonconforming tread base rubber compound, according to the recall report.
Dealers will inspect all four tires and replace those covered under the recall for free. Notification letters to be mailed Dec. 1.
Affected vehicles: 22,914
Ford recalled certain 2020 Escapes as the rear brake pads in them may have been manufactured incorrectly.
The vehicles may have a lower-than-specified rear brake lining coefficient of friction and could be equipped with a brake vacuum booster without a vacuum sensor, according to the recall report.
Dealers are to replace the front brake pads for free. Notification letters are to be mailed in October.
Affected vehicles: 13,451
Tesla recalled certain 2025 Model 3 and 2026 Model Y vehicles as the battery pack contactors may fail, causing a loss of drive power.
The recalled vehicles are equipped with a battery pack contactor manufactured with InTiCa solenoid, which may suddenly open due to poor coil termination connection, according to the recall report.
Tesla Service will replace the battery pack contactors, free of charge, and notification letters are to be mailed on Dec. 9.
Affected vehicles: 12,963
Stellantis recalled certain 2024-2025 Fiat 500e Battery Electric vehicles as the headlight horizontal aim adjustment is not covered as intended, which can result in improperly adjusted headlights.
A cause for the defect was not included in the recall report.
Dealers are to install headlight adjustment plugs, free of charge. Notification letters are to be sent on Dec. 10.
