Rudy Giuliani hospitalized after New Hampshire car crash.
Rudy Giuliani, the 81-year-old former New York City mayor and one-time attorney for Donald Trump, was hospitalized on Saturday evening following a rear-end car collision in New Hampshire.
According to his security chief, Michael Ragusa, Giuliani sustained a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg, but officials emphasize that the crash was not a targeted attack.
The accident occurred shortly after Giuliani had stopped to assist a woman involved in a domestic violence incident, calling 911 and staying at the scene until police arrived.
His rental vehicle was struck from behind at high speed by a Honda HR-V driven by a 19-year-old, pushing both vehicles into a highway median. All parties involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Giuliani was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he remained hospitalized but in good spirits. His team reports he is recovering steadily and is expected to remain in care for several days before being discharged.
This incident comes after years of public and legal challenges for Giuliani, including a multi-million-dollar defamation judgment and disbarment.
Nonetheless, his security detail rallied to reassure the public, urging people to “respect Mayor Giuliani’s privacy and recovery” and warning against spreading unfounded conspiracy theories.
