NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WFSB) – In recognition of Child Passenger Safety Week, The Hospital of Central Connecticut is set to host a free Car Seat Safety Clinic to help families ensure their children’s car seats are properly installed and secure.
The event will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Walnut Hill Park.
Families will have the opportunity to meet with certified child passenger safety technicians, who will inspect car seats, demonstrate proper installation techniques, and answer any questions about car seat safety.
The initiative comes in response to alarming statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which reports that nearly 60% of car seats are installed incorrectly, putting young passengers at serious risk in the event of an accident.
Appointments are strongly recommended, with priority given to those who register in advance. Families can sign up for a time slot here.
The Car Seat Safety Clinic is completely free and open to the public.
