A HUGE emergency service presence was reported on a village street after a car crashed into a house.
Millbrook Close and Warrington Road, between Glazebury and Culcheth, were closed by police following the incident yesterday afternoon, Sunday.
As well as officers from Cheshire Police, crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance shortly before 3.30pm, as well as paramedics from North West Ambulance Service.
From the fire service, two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm fire stations were dispatched, as well as the major rescue unit from Lymm Fire Station.
A number of homes were evacuated following the incident due to concerns over a gas leak.
It is believed that no-one involved suffered any serious injuries, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
A fire service spokesman said: “Emergency services were called after a car crashed into a detached house on Millbrook Close, which led to concerns about damage to a gas main.
“The driver of the car was taken to hospital, and three passengers were also checked over by paramedics at the scene.
“As a precaution, around 12 homes were evacuated due to the gas leak risk. Residents were relocated to another property while the incident was dealt with.
