Six people have been hospitalised with fatalities feared after a crash in Bolton on Sunday.

The scene at Wigan Road, Bolton where emergency services have been dealing with a serious RTC. The road is reported to have been closed between Deane Church Lane and Bankfield Street. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines and a technical response unit were called to the scene on Wigan Road at around 12.50am.
They say that Greater Manchester Police were already on the scene and that firefighters worked to make the area safe, including by cutting people out of cars.
It is reported that six people have been rushed to the hospital after the accident. 
According to the reports, the incident occurred shortly before 12.45am.
Councillor Ayyub Patel said: “As a councillor for Rumworth, I am deeply saddened to hear about the serious incident on Wigan Road.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of the persons who have tragically lost their lives and my thoughts are with everyone affected.
“I want to express my gratitude to the emergency services for their swift and professional response in such difficult circumstances.
“Our community will stand together in support and we will await further updates from the authorities.”
