Eleven people have been hospitalised, including two children, after a serious crash between a bus and car on the M2 motorway in Sydney’s north.
Four people remain in a serious condition following the high-speed collision near the Lane Cove Road overpass at Macquarie Park around 3:30pm.
The bus, carrying almost 30 passengers and heading north out of the city, slammed into the back of an SUV with five people on board while both were in a 100km/h zone.

A massive emergency response was launched, with dozens of vehicles including fire, heavy rescue, paramedics and police rushing to the scene.
Two people were trapped on-board the bus, including the bus driver, who was finally freed after one-and-a-half hours.
A number of passengers walked away with back injuries with the remaining 27 uninjured passengers transferred to a replacement bus.
Five people, including two children, were in the SUV. They all walked away from the crash.
The father of a 17-year-old bus passenger described the terrifying moments after the crash.
“Our son’s on the way to hospital now. He has cuts and … a sore head, sore neck,” he said.
“I think anybody that was sitting down was all right. Anybody that was standing up is, from what he said to me, is not really very good.”
The crash caused major traffic chaos on the M2 heading out of the city.
While one lane reopened shortly after the crash, delays stretched back kilometres as emergency crews worked to remove the vehicles.
Police urged motorists to avoid the area around the M2 at Macquarie Park while crash investigators work to determine what caused the collision.
Most of the bus passengers escaped serious injury and were transported from the scene on another bus.
