Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has unveiled two new smart-vehicle brands, “Qijing” and “Yijing,” in partnership with Chinese automakers Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd. (GAC) and Dongfeng Motor Group Co. Ltd., broadening its automotive strategy under the “Harmony Intelligent Mobility” and “Huawei Qiankun” ecosystems.
The announcement, made just before the Nov. 20 opening of the Guangzhou Auto Show, marks a deeper expansion of Huawei’s role in co-developing vehicles — despite its public insistence that it does not make cars itself.
