CHICAGO (WLS) — A gunman pulled up to a Northwest Side crash scene and shot someone early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said the shooting happened in the Humboldt Park neighborhood's 3800-block of West Chicago Avenue around 1:45 a.m.

A 22-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle when it became involved in a crash, police said.
Police said that's when the driver of another vehicle, which was not involved in the collision, pulled up. A gunman got out of that vehicle and fired shots, striking the victim in the chest several times.
The Chicago Fire Department transported the victim to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The suspect, a male of an unknown age, got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
There is no one in custody, and Area Four detectives are investigating.
Police did not immediately provide further information about the shooting.
