Datahouse’s full annual report on the Hungarian new car market for 2025 has arrived: in 2025, a total of 129,440 new cars found owners in Hungary, representing a 6.44 percent increase compared to last year’s 121,609 units. The market has therefore continued to strengthen, and competition between brands has remained fierce.
Once again, Suzuki proved to be the favorite among Hungarian buyers: the brand closed the year with 14,285 units sold and an 11.04 percent market share, securing its market-leading position for the 22nd time. The Esztergom-manufactured S-Cross and Vitara, with approximately 6,000 units sold each, form the backbone of Suzuki’s sales, while the imported Swift, with 1,967 units sold, became the most popular model in the B segment. Suzuki is closely followed by Toyota, which sold 13,862 units (10.71%), while Skoda came in third with 11,373 cars sold (8.79%). Fourth and fifth place went to Volkswagen (8,734 units, 6.75%) and Ford (8,397 units, 6.49%). Kia, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, and Nissan also made it into the top ten, while Dacia finished in 11th place.
Renault, Audi, and Opel followed in the middle of the pack, while Volvo was the top premium brand with 2,708 units sold.
