NEW BRITAIN — A juvenile was taken to the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle Monday evening in New Britain, according to officials.
Officers were called to the intersection of Main and Lafayette streets around 6:30 p.m. for a reported pedestrian crash, said Alisha Rayner, director of operations for the mayor’s office.

At the scene, officers found the juvenile conscious and alert, “but in obvious pain,” Rayner said. The juvenile was taken to Connecticut Children’s Hospital, where personnel determined their injuries were not life-threatening, according to Rayner.
Rayner said the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative. Authorities issued the driver an infraction for the incident, according to Rayner.
