Karkala, Aug 22, 2025: A car was completely gutted after catching fire due to a suspected petrol leakage near Sanur petrol bunk on National Highway-169 in Karkala.
The incident occurred around 1 pm on Thursday, August 21, when a car (KA 04 M 1166) traveling towards Moodbidri suddenly went up in flames. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The vehicle, recently purchased by Ayaan from Banglegudde from another owner, was reduced to ashes within minutes.
On receiving the alert, fire and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. The operation was led by fire station officer Albert Monis, assistant station officer Chandrashekhar, along with firemen Achyut Karkera, Dinesh, and driver Jayamoolya.
