Mahindra has released multiple teasers of the new XEV 9S electric SUV ahead of its launch later this month. The SUV has already been caught testing numerous times with production-ready body panels. It appears largely identical to the Mahindra XUV700, which is also evident from the teasers. Let’s talk about the expected price, launch date and other key details on the design and interiors of the Mahindra XEV 9S electric SUV.

Mahindra has officially announced that the 7-seater electric SUV, the XEV 9S will be launched in the country on November 27, 2025. The SUV was first showcased as the XUV.e8 concept in 2022. It will be the third model based on Mahindra’s Born-electric platform, called the INGLO.

Mahindra XEV 9S Top Features

The XEV 9S 7-seater electric SUV will be the brand’s new flagship vehicle, and will be positioned above the Mahindra XEV 9e. The new model is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 23 lakh and Rs 34 lakh, which is around 2-3 lakh higher than the XEV 9e coupe SUV. The electric SUV won’t have a direct rival in our market; however, it could impact the likes of the Tata Harrier EV, BYD Atto 3 and others.

The teasers and spy images reveal that the new XEV 9S looks largely identical to the XUV700, except for the EV-specific design changes. The electric SUV will come with a closed-off front fascia, connected LED DRLs, LED headlamps and a strong body cladding all-around the body. The SUV will also receive newly designed aero-optimised wheels.

The cabin layout will be similar to the XEV 9e and the BE 6 electric Coupe SUVs. The SUV will have an all-black interior scheme with dashboard dominated by a three-screen display. Mahindra has not teased the third-row seats, but it will have a sliding second-row seats.

The electric SUV will come with power adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, toggle-like power window switches, wireless phone charger and ambient lighting. It is likely to get ventilated front seats with massage functions, and a 3-zone climate control. While the XEV 9e comes with a fixed glass roof, the XEV 9S will come with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. For safety and security, the 7-seat electric SUV will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake with auto hold, 7 airbags, hill hold assist, ESP, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree surround view camera.

The 7-seater electric SUV is likely to be offered with two battery pack options, 59kWh and 79kWh. The electric SUV is also likely to get a dual-motor AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) setup. We expect the new Mahindra XEV 9S to offer a realistic range of up to 450km on a single charge.
