A driver has been arrested after a car hit a building closing a main road in Heywood today.
The incident followed a police chase resulting from reports of a ’disturbance’ at a Bury property.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that at around 3.50am on Sunday (September 28) police responded to reports of an ongoing disturbance at an address on Walmersley Road in Bury.
Upon police arrival, the force said a vehicle made off, resulting in a pursuit utilising specialist tactics.
The vehicle travelled towards Heywood, where it crashed into a building on Bridge Street.

The driver of the vehicle – a man in his 30s – was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and threats to kill, before being taken to hospital for an injury to his arm.
Investigations are ongoing.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and assist their investigation.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 4.40am on Sunday 28 September, one fire engine from Heywood Community Fire Station and the Technical Response Unit from Ashton-under-Lyne Community Fire Station, were called to attend a road traffic collision involving two vehicles and a domestic building on Bridge Street, Heywood.
“Crews arrived quickly and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe. One male casualty was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. 
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately two and a half hours.”
