A catapult and six dead pheasants were found in a car after a man was arrested in Bishop’s Waltham.
Police officers from the Country Watch Rural Crime Task force were driving along Lower Lane, at approximately 8.35pm on Sunday, August 17, when they noticed a car speeding in the other direction.
The police turned to follow, but shortly afterwards, the car in front came to a stop and three people ran from the vehicle. However, officers managed to catch the driver.
Inside the vehicle, they found a catapult, a bag of metal ball bearings, a quantity of cannabis and six dead pheasants in the passenger footwell.

The man, a 19-year-old from Southampton, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, possessing a knife in a public place, using a weapon to kill/take a wild bird, possession of a controlled Class B drug, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence.
In a post on Facebook, police said that the man is still in custody while enquires continue.
