A DRIVER has died after his car crashed into a wall near Cirencester this morning (Monday, August 18).
Gloucestershire police said emergency services were called just after 6am after reports that the driver had collided with a wall on the A417 London Road in Ampney Crucis.
A 50-year-old man from the Cotswolds was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Road closures which were in place on Witpit Lane, at The Crown at Ampney Brook pub in Ampney Crucis and the Cherrytree Lane crossroads while collision investigators examined the scene have now been lifted.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
