The A417 has been closed in both directions
A man has died after a crash involving a car transporter, police said.
Emergency services responded to the two vehicle collision on the A417 near Birdlip on Sunday around 09:40 GMT.
The driver of a Honda Civic, a man in his 50s from Gloucester, was seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Three passengers of the car, a woman and two young children, were taken to hospital in Bristol for treatment to their injuries. The driver of the car transporter was assessed by paramedics and did not sustain any serious injuries.
The A417 has been closed in both directions between Cirencester and Gloucester, and the B4070 Buckholt Road junction and Twelve Bells junction have been closed while police carry out an investigation.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in contact.
