A man has died following a horror crash in Dublin on Monday evening.
Emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N11 in Foxrock, Dublin 18 at around 6.45pm.
The pedestrian, a man aged in his 70s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The coroner has been notified and the man’s body has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a postmortem examination will take place.
On Monday evening the scene was sealed off and was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since re-opened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana said:
“Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision at the N11, Foxrock, Dublin 18 which occurred on Monday, December 8.
“At approximately 6.45pm, Gardai and emergency services were alerted to the collision, involving a car and a pedestrian.
“The male pedestrian aged in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The coroner has been notified and the male’s body has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
"No other injuries were reported."
The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:30pm and 7:00pm on Monday, 8th December 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
