A man has died in a crash between a car and a livestock truck that closed a major highway in Western Australia's south.
Albany Highway was shut in both directions on Wednesday afternoon between Mount Barker and Narrikup as emergency services responded to the accident.

Police said a 29-year-old man was killed when his hatchback collided with the sheep truck near Red Hill Road, about 360 kilometres south-east of Perth, around 2:30pm.
The driver of the livestock truck received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

A large detour was put in place on the highway — the main road link between Perth and Albany.
Major Crash investigators were sent to the scene.
Video footage showed a badly damaged car on one side of the highway and a truck tipped on its side in a culvert on the other side.
St John WA said it sent three ambulance crews to the scene, while firefighters were also on site.

Albany Highway has since been reopened to traffic but speed restrictions are in place.
Major Crash officers are investigating the fatal accident, and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.
