FLUSHING, Queens (WABC) — A man who was lying in the street was killed after a police car drove over him in Queens.
It happened inside Flushing Meadows Corona Park just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
The NYPD says an officer in a patrol car cruised past the Queens Theatre and drove over the man. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say the officer was going about 10 miles per hour at the time of the accident.
It is not clear why the man was in the road or whether he was attending US Open's Fan Week.
