A man has been rushed to the hospital after a car crashed through a railing on Glasgow’s Great Western Road.
Emergency services raced to Knightswood Cross following a report of a one-car crash at around 12pm on Thursday, August 28.
Multiple police cars, a fire engine, an ambulance, a special operations response team (SORT), a trauma team and a rapid resuscitation response unit were all sent to the scene.
Pictures captured at the scene by the Glasgow Times show a black car having careened into a railing and stopped on the pavement.

Police Scotland’s collision investigation was spotted taking images of the scene as they were inspecting the site.
(Image: Newsquest) The Scottish Ambulance Service say one male patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
His condition is unknown.
Several streets were used as a diversion during the incident, as the stretch of Great Western Road was closed westbound. from its junction with Knightswood Road and Archerhill Road.
The diversions have since been lifted, and power to the traffic lights has been restored.
One local witness who came to see what was going on, said: “It must be a serious crash if the police are still here.
“It’s a bad junction, there are always people speeding. People think the faraway lights are green for them, and they don’t look.
“There are a lot of accidents here.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Great Western Road in Glasgow is closed westbound between Knightswood Road and Archerhill Road following a crash involving one car, around noon on Thursday, August 28, 2025. 
“Emergency services attended, and the male driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. 
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Diversions are in place and drivers are asked to avoid the area.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12.04 to attend an incident on Great Western Road, Clydebank.
“An ambulance, a special operations response team (SORT), a trauma team and a rapid resuscitation response unit (3RU) were dispatched to the scene.
“One patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.11pm on Thursday, 28 August to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle near Baldwin Avenue and Knightswood Road.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene to assist emergency service partners.
“One casualty was taken into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene at 1.00pm after ensuring the area was made safe.”
