The four-door concept, which looks like a sedan but could be a crossover, will debut at the Japan Mobility Show at the end of the month
With the Japan Mobility Show 2025 just around the corner, automakers are rushing to announce their lineups. Mazda’s stand might not be able to match the sheer number of exhibits from Suzuki, Nissan, or Toyota, but it will definitely host one of the highlights of the show: a new Vision model with a sleek roofline and four doors.
The concept represents “the vision for future Mazda vehicles”, which means that its design and technology will influence future production models. The teaser shows a big chunk of the profile revealing frameless windows, clean surfacing, toned shoulders and a sloping roofline. We can also see a pair of futuristic headrests and mirror-replacing cameras.

At first glance, the concept looks more like a low-slung fastback, but it could also be a sleek crossover. The shape of the side windows and strong D-pillar are slightly reminiscent of the Mazda3 hatchback, while the tail sends subtle 2005 Ford Shelby GR-1 concept vibes. In any case it is clearly not an evolution of the 2023 Iconic SP Concept that will soon evolve into a production sports car.
Mazda said that the Vision model symbolizes its theme for this year’s exhibition in Tokyo which is “The joy of driving fuels a sustainable tomorrow.” This hints at a driver-centric character and an environmentally friendly powertrain that could be electric, hybrid, range-extender, or an ICE with alternative fuels.
The concept will be joined by the European version of the new CX-5 SUV that will be exhibited for the first time in front of an audience. The automaker will also showcase its proprietary CO2 capture technology and algae-derived carbon-neutral fuel for reducing emissions.

Finally, Mazda vehicles will participate in various exhibition programs hosted by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association. These include the CX-30 SeDV designed for drivers with disabilities, the classic RX-7 rotary sports car, the Spirit Racing RS Future Concept, as well as the CX-60 and CX-80 production SUVs.
Mazda will hold a press conference on October 29, the press day of the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.
