Houston-area dealers sold 384,051 new cars, trucks, and SUVs in the 12 months ending July ‘25, according to TexAuto Facts, published by InfoNation Inc.

Houston-area dealers sold 384,051 new cars, trucks, and SUVs in the 12 months ending July ‘25, according to TexAuto Facts, published by InfoNation Inc. This represents a 9.1 percent increase in sales over the same period last year. Truck and SUV sales were up 11.6 percent, and car sales were almost flat, up 0.2 percent.
On a monthly basis, July sales rebounded after a slower June, increasing by 30.1 percent. Compared to July ’24, sales were up 9.6 percent. Recent months have shown different degrees of strength, with February, March, May, and July performing near or above the average for the first seven months of ’25. January, April, and June did not perform as well, seeing sales further below the year-to-date average. Total year-to-date sales through July ’25 are 10.3 percent above the same period in ’24.
Year over year, overall prices grew compared to July ‘24, with truck and SUV prices increasing and car prices decreasing:
