More than 43,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles are being recalled by Ford, according to a recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The recall includes certain Ford Explorer Hybrid and Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid vehicles.
According to the NHTSA, the recall is due to a fault in the car’s pedestrian warning sound, which could “prevent the vehicle from emitting the pedestrian warning sound at certain speeds,” increasing the risk of injury.
Owners of impacted vehicles are expected to be mailed on Nov. 10, according to the recall. Affected cars will get updated software installed by a dealer free of charge.
It also comes after Ford recalled more than 1.4 million cars and SUVs over concerns that the vehicle’s rearview camera could fail to properly display an image, reducing the driver’s view behind the vehicle.
