FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A driver was killed, and two others were injured in a multi-car pile-up on Highway 99 on Sunday, CHP says.
Fresno CHP received reports of a wrong-way driver on Highway 99 at around 2 p.m.
Later, reports of a car accident occurred with the vehicle on the southbound side of Highway 99.
According to the investigation, a 58-year-old male was driving a Ford Ranger northbound on the southbound side of Highway 99.
Two vehicles going southbound were unable to avoid the Ford Ranger and crashed.
All three vehicles blocked two lanes on Highway 99.
All three drivers were transported to Community Regional Medical Center for injuries.
However, despite life-saving measures, the Ford Ranger driver was pronounced dead.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in this crash.
This is an ongoing investigation.
