ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Drivers are asked to avoid part of Lincoln Road in Allegan County as deputies investigate a multi-car, head-on collision.
The crash happened in Heath Township, on Lincoln Road M-40 Highway North between 127th Avenue and 128th Avenue, at 6:29 p.m., according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
Per preliminary investigation, a northbound pickup truck lost control and crashed into a southbound car, deputies said. A third car was unable to stop in time to avoid the crash and collided with the wreckage.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The driver and several passengers of the southbound car were taken to the hospital, with one being in serious condition, according to the sheriff's office. No one in the third car was hurt.
Deputies believe speed and weather may be factors in this crash.
As of 9:13 p.m., Lincoln Road has reopened to traffic, according to the sheriff's office.
Hamilton Fire Department, Life EMS, Holland AMR, Michigan Department of Transportation and the Allegan County Accident Reconstruction Team were credited for their assistance.
