CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Multiple people were injured Tuesday in a five-car crash in Campbell County, according to firefighters.
Crews responded to Wards Rd. around 11:43 a.m. for a report of a multiple-vehicle crash.
When crews arrived, they reported finding five vehicles in a rear-end style collision with moderate to heavy damage, and two people were trapped inside their vehicle.
Emergency Medical Services began assisting the people involved, and firefighters began taking the passenger doors off to reach the trapped individuals.

First responders said they then requested two helicopters for two people in critical condition.
The helicopters landed behind the Hyland Heights Youth Center, and the two people were then flown to a hospital for medical treatment.
Firefighters said one person was also taken to the hospital by car.
Crews said they worked for about two hours before clearing the scene.
The cause of the crash has not been released.
