The mysterious prototype closely echoes the Manthey kit for the 911 GT2 RS
Porsche is no stranger to special editions and it appears the company is working on an all-new model that pays homage to the 911 Turbo Slantnose from the 1980’s. Building on earlier trademark applications for the Flachbau and Flachbau RS monikers, spy photographers have snapped this mysterious prototype near the Nürburgring.
Looking undeniably aggressive, the model incorporates cues from the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. However, it features a unique front end with slimmer headlights and squared off intakes. They’re joined by ventilated fenders and a unique hood with NACA ducts. The car has also been equipped with canards and a protruding front lip.

Continuing down the sides, there are lightweight center locking wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system with yellow calipers. We can also see rear aero discs, a massive rear wing, and a tall spoiler. Rounding out the highlights is a sports exhaust system and a discreet diffuser. Interestingly, the model also has taillights that recall those used on the 991.
Speaking of which, the model closely resembles the Manthey kit for the previous-generation 911 GT2 RS. This could imply we’re looking at a new Manthey variant rather than a special edition Porsche.
Regardless of what it is, there’s little doubt it won’t be cheap. However, we’ll have to wait a little longer to hear about pricing and performance specifications.
