Cars launched in september

September 2025 proved to be an eventful month for the Indian automotive industry with multiple launches across different segments. From mass-market SUVs to premium electric vehicles, car manufacturers brought a diverse range of options to Indian buyers. Adding to the excitement of the festive season, automakers have also introduced some special editions and new variants to enhance the appeal of their cars.
So without further ado, let’s take a quick look at all the cars that hit Indian roads this September.
Maruti’s much-awaited compact SUV, the Victoris, was launched with prices starting from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It becomes Maruti’s flagship arena model, positioned above the popular Brezza subcompact SUV. The Victoris boasts modern styling and a feature-loaded cabin with many features that debut on a Maruti for the very first time.
Its top features include multi-coloured ambient lighting, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-speaker Infinity sound system, a 360-degree camera, level-2 ADAS, and a panoramic sunroof.

It comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a strong hybrid petrol powertrain, and a CNG option as well.
VinFast has shocked the automobile industry with super-aggressive pricing, setting new expectations in the electric SUV space with the newly launched VF6. The Creta EV rival is VinFast’s first EV on our shores, along with the VF7. It is a compact electric SUV that follows minimalist styling and offers top-notch features. Its prices range from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 18.29 lakh (ex-showroom).

The VF6 packs plenty of niceties: Ventilated seats, HUD, powered seats, a 360-degree camera, and even level-2 ADAS. It’s powered by a single motor that is paired with a 59.6 kWh battery delivering up to 468 km of range.
If you liked the VF6 but want something larger, more premium, and even more powerful, then there is the VF7 SUV. The VF7 is a midsize electric SUV with prices starting from Rs 20.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The VF7 comes with creature comforts like an 8-way powered driver’s seat, a panoramic glass roof, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate, HUD, and up to eight airbags. You get a 70.8 kWh battery pack, with both single- and dual-motor options. With the dual-motor version, you also get an AWD system. The VF7 offers a range of up to 510 km on a single charge.

Volvo’s most affordable EV, the EX30, was launched at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The EX30 brings the Volvo badge at more affordable pricing, in an EV form. Its top features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Google Services, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, and a powered tailgate. It also gets a Level 2 ADAS suite and 7 airbags.
The EX30 packs in a 69kWh battery pack with a WLTP-certified range of 480km. Its single electric motor makes 272 PS and 343 Nm, and it has an impressive 0-100 kmph sprint time of 5.3 seconds.

At about Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), Skoda introduced the Kodiaq Lounge variant. It is the new entry-level variant, which has been positioned below the Sportline and L&K trims. This variant not only brings down the pricing of the Kodiaq, but also offers a new 5-seater configuration with a larger boot space.
It misses out on features like a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and certain chrome elements on the outside. The alloy wheels are also different here. The good thing is that it gets all the essential and certain feel-good features. Moreover, it remains unchanged mechanically and gets the same 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, which offers respectable performance for a family SUV.

Honda updated its sole SUV, the Elevate, giving it some minor design tweaks and an enhanced interior with some new features. The Japanese carmaker didn’t make any mechanical tweaks, and the Elevate continues to get the reliable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The range-topping ZX trim, which costs Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom), gets a bolder grille, a new theme for the interior, and a 360-degree camera and multi-colour ambient lighting as pay-extra add-ons. The lower-spec V and VX variants also get minor updates inside, with prices starting from Rs 12.39 lakh and Rs 14.13 lakh, respectively. The 2025 Elevate gets a base Black edition and a Signature Black Edition. Check out this story for more details on the same.
The king of the compact SUV space, the Hyundai Creta, got a new top-spec King variant placed above the SX (O) trim. So you get the Creta King, Creta King Limited and Creta King Knight. These editions add some premium features, exclusive styling bits, and a new Black Matte shade to the lineup. However, under the hood, the Creta remains mechanically unchanged.
Creta King: The Creta King brings features like powered co-driver seats with memory function for the driver side, dual-zone climate control with a touch panel, a dashcam, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a handy front-seatback table with a device holder. It also gets a special King emblem to denote the exclusivity.
Creta King Knight: As you would expect from a Knight edition, this version gets an all-black theme along with matte black alloys and a Knight emblem. All other updates are similar to the standard Knight version.
Creta King Limited Edition: This one’s for those who want more exclusivity. It adds a couple of ‘King’ branded touches, such as seatbelt covers, headrest cushions, carpet mats, and a key cover.

The Creta King’s prices start at Rs 17.89 lakh (ex-showroom), which is about Rs 1.5 lakh more than the SX Tech trim below it. The King Limited Edition tops out at Rs 20.92 lakh (ex-showroom), a premium of Rs 50,000 over the standard King. Meanwhile, the Knight edition comes at a similar premium compared to the regular SX (O) automatic trims, commanding around Rs 1.5 lakh extra.
The Citroen Basalt might not be as popular as some of the cars mentioned above, but it is now a car you can’t ignore, especially after the necessary updates with the new Basalt X. Priced at Rs 11.63 lakh (ex-showroom), the new edition of the SUV adds a darker exterior theme and a refreshed cabin, while keeping the proven engine options the same.
It gets a new black and tan theme for the interior, and features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, an auto-dimming IRVM, push button start/stop, and cruise control that induce a lot of convenience to the passengers.

The Basalt X continues with the same engines as the regular Basalt. There’s a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic.
This festive season, many automakers have also introduced special editions, including dark editions, to spice up the aesthetics. Hyundai Creta Electric, Alcazar, and i20 get new Knight Editions with all-black exterior and interior design and some brass-coloured elements in the cabin.
The Creta Electric ranges from Rs 21.45 lakh to Rs 24.55 lakh, while the Alcazar Knight Edition comes at Rs 21.66 lakh (ex-showroom). The i20 also gets a Knight Edition, priced at Rs 9.15 lakh. Apart from sportier-looking hues inside and out, these Hyundai cars also get a dashcam and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Tata also updated the Nexon EV with new features such as ambient lighting, ADAS, and rear window sunshade. Moreover, it gets a dark edition for a Rs 20,000 premium. Like most dark editions, you get a black theme on the exterior as well as the interior. Prices of the new variants range between Rs 17.29 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
September 2025 showcased the diversity of the Indian automotive market with launches spanning mass-market to luxury segments. Maruti Suzuki strengthened its SUV portfolio with the feature-rich Victoris, while Citroen and Hyundai offered a premium variant of their SUVs. The month is also special because VinFast made its ambitious Indian entry with two electric SUVs, and Volvo extended its EV lineup with the affordable EX30.
So September feels like a huge win for the Indian automotive space, as in addition to the new cars, we also got the GST benefits, which reduced prices of our favorite cars, making them more accessible. Expect October as well to be an action-packed month, with several exciting launches lined up.
