CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A New Cumberland motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle wreck that resulted in fire Tuesday morning.
Robert Allen Rustay, 65, was pronounced dead after the coroner responded around 7:50 a.m. to the 500 block of South Third Street, according to a press release.
West Shore Regional Police said the crash was initially reported around 7:20 a.m. and shut down surrounding roads for hours.
Police Chief Anthony Minium said the forensics and accident reconstruction team were on scene investigating, and state police also responded.
The police chief added that all three vehicles were headed the same direction when the wreck happened and resulted in a vehicle fire.
It's not known at this time exactly what led to the crash, but police said the collision did also leave a pole in the road.
Police said surrounding roads will likely remain closed all morning, and traffic is being detoured onto Walton Street.
