INDIANA (WSBT) — Beginning this year, Indiana will require Hoosiers to report changes to their vehicle's paint color.
“Senate Enrolled Act 331" was signed earlier this year by Governor Mike Braun.
It requires vehicle owners to notify the BMV if a change to the color of a passenger vehicle is made.
That includes installing or removing vinyl wrap.
Failure to do so within 30 days could result in a warning from law enforcement.
According to the BMV, if the vehicle’s color was changed after it was used in the commission of a crime, the owner of the vehicle may be charged with a misdemeanor.
