ALBANY, N.Y. — Do you pay for subscriptions to your car’s built-in features? Some state lawmakers are pushing to ban subscription fees for built-in car features.
The proposed legislation targets fees for features already installed in cars at the time of purchase, such as safety systems, entertainment options, enhanced navigation, hands-free driving, and heated seats. The bill now awaits Gov. Kathy Hochul’s signature to become law.
If enacted, automakers would face penalties for charging for features already installed in cars. Click here to learn more about the bill.
