A Norman police officer is being transported to the hospital after being hit by a car on State Highway 9E.
A police officer is injured after being hit while outside of his vehicle in Norman on Thursday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
State Highway 9E, between 84th Ave S.E. and 108th Ave S.E., was closed for over an hour due to this scene. It has since reopened.
The officer was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said the driver stayed on the scene.
HAPPENING NOW: An NPD officer was struck outside of his vehicle just west of 108th Ave SE on Highway 9 at approximately 7:19PM.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
