This driver’s not the sharpest crayon in the box.
A New York motorist was busted for hand-drawing his car’s registration and inspection papers with magic marker and crayons in what looks like a kindergarten art project gone wrong.
Gregory Cawley, 50, of Lafayette got a little too creative with the paperwork he displayed in the windshield of his Jeep, according to New York State Police — who first noticed his license plates were fishy Thursday.
Police ran his plates and saw that they allegedly belonged to a 2011 Chevrolet Express, prompting them to pull Cawley over.
During the stop, cops noticed that the sloppily penned vehicle papers “appeared to be hand drawn using a mix of pen, marker, and crayon with an impressive amount of confidence,” the cops wrote in a Facebook post
“As a friendly reminder, arts and crafts supplies do not count as valid documentation.”
Cawley was ticketed for operating a motor vehicle without inspection, operating an unregistered vehicle, improper plates and other citations, according to a police spokeswoman.
