One person is dead after a head-on collision between an SUV and a dump truck in an industrial district of Fletcher.
The Fletcher Police Department announced the crash, at 126 Mills Gap Road, just before 11 a.m. Oct. 13 in a Facebook post.
The crash’s victim, who police said won’t be named until the department notifies their family, was driving alone in a Pontiac Torrent, Fletcher Police Chief Dan Terry told the Times-News in an Oct. 13 email.
As of just after 1 p.m., both lanes of traffic on Mills Gap Road had reopened, he said.
“We thank the community for their patience as well as the kind words and prayers. Please continue to remember the family at this time,” the police department said in its post.
