A passenger was killed and four people were injured after a head-on collision in Allegan County, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened on 142nd Avenue near 41st Street, about 12 miles southeast of Holland, Mich., at 1:30 p.m.
According to deputies, a passenger car carrying four people was traveling west on 142nd Avenue when the driver lost control and crashed head on into a pickup truck.
The front seat passenger of the car died at the scene, deputies said.
The driver of the car, along with a woman and 14-month-old that were sitting in the back seat, were injured in the crash.
Both backseat passengers were taken to the hospital. As of Thursday evening, the woman remains in critical condition and the child remains in stable condition, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the crash, but their passenger was taken to the hospital for treatment, deputies said.
As of Thursday evening, the Allegan County accident reconstruction team is conducting their investigation.
Deputies believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash, and will not be releasing names until family members are notified, according to the sheriff's office.
Overisel Fire Department, Salem Township fire department, Michigan State Police, Holland AMR and Life EMS were credited for their assistance.
