One person was injured after a car flipped in what was described as a “major” crash in Southampton.
A whole host of emergency services rushed to Portsmouth Road at 7.40pm last night after two vehicles had crashed, leaving one black car overturned and positioned on its roof.
Witnesses described the crash as “major”, as a Botley Road resident said the car was left “right next to the roundabout” that connects their road to Portsmouth Road.
The resident spoke to the Echo the day after the crash and said that they had seen “blue lights for hours” on Saturday night.
Hampshire police confirmed to the Echo that officers rushed to the road and put a closure in place after being called by residents.
Cones were placed around the black car and blue lights were left on emergency vehicles to warn motorists of the incident.
Paramedics were seen treating those involved, but a spokesperson for Hampshire police has now confirmed to the Echo that only one person was left with “minor injuries”.

The spokesperson also confirmed only two vehicles were involved in the crash.
Ambulance services remained in the area, alongside Southampton firefighters, who were called to the scene to assist and secure the scene.
Speaking to the Echo the day after the crash, a Portsmouth Road resident said that they think “too many” drivers go “too fast” down, which connects Bursledon to the Itchen Bridge.
The resident said: “I don’t know how this car ended up on its roof so I can’t blame it for going too fast. But so many people come speeding down here at night. The road can be a problem for that.
“This roundabout can be a problem too if drivers are going too fast. I’d like to see something done about it.
“But I don’t know how this car crashed so I just hope everyone in the car is alright.”

A spokesperson for Hampshire fire said: “Southampton firefighters were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Portsmouth Road at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
“Crews from Hightown and St Mary’s made the scene safe as paramedics treated casualties and police officers managed the traffic.
“The stop message came in at 8.07pm.”
