Gran Turismo 7 is in some ways still alive as not only new cars, but also new manufacturers are being added. And the next to arrive will be German marque Opel.
A mainstay of the Gran Turismo series since GT2, Opel was absent from GT Sport but will be making its belated entrance to Gran Turismo 7 with a new car, a Vision Gran Turismo car.
The new Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo, revealed in person at the IAA Mobility 2025 motor show today, is an EV with a crossover shape body and many nods to the brands history as well as its future.
This car has some moving aero, the rear wing not only have adjustable angles but the rear diffuser can be seen protruding out further in the gameplay trailer. The interior has a “detoxed racing experience” with minimal trimmings outside of some lighting effects that only players with a PS VR2 setup can truly appreciate in full.
The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo will be available in Gran Turismo 7 as a free update later this year. Hopefully developer Polyphony Digital isn’t just bringing a VGT but also some production cars. Skoda, which made its Gran Turismo debut recently, is still only represented by a concept car and not any road-going (or track-going) cars. At least another new manufacturer, Xiaomi, will be debuting with a production model when it arrives in a future game update.
This is the second Vision Gran Turismo car to be revealed at a motor show event that will be coming to GT7, following right after Chevrolet’s unveiling of the Corvette CX.R VGT.
Gran Turismo 7 is out now on PS4 and PS5.
