CLACKAMS COUNTY, Ore. — A 64-year-old Molalla man died Thursday afternoon when he crashed into an ODOT sign along Interstate 205 northbound in Clackamas County.
The crash was reported at about 12:45 p.m. near milepost 15.
Oregon State Police officials said Jack Jay Lewis, 64, of Molalla, was driving north on I-205 when for some reason he went off the interstate and hit an ODOT sign, sending his Ford Aspire into a roll.
Lewis wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-205 was closed for about three hours for a crash investigation.
Clackamas County Fire and ODOT helped state troopers with the crash investigation.
