A passenger has died and a driver is in a critical condition after their car rolled off the Hume Highway near Gunning, about an hour from Canberra.

Emergency services were called to the Hume Highway near Gunning about 6.45am on Sunday, November 30, following reports a car had left the road and rolled.
A passenger of the vehicle was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, however, the person died at the scene.
The driver was treated at the scene before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
Hume Police District officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the crash.
It’s the second death on the same stretch of road in two days, after a car came off the road and hit a signpost.
The southbound lanes of the Hume Highway at Gunning was reopened about 2pm on Sunday.

Traffic was earlier being diverted via Canberra on the Federal Highway and Barton Highway.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
