Emergency services were called to the scene on Friday evening
An 87-year-old man has died after being hit by a car.
Thames Valley Police said the incident involved a pedestrian and a blue Ford Focus on the A40 London Road, west of Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire at about 17:30 GMT on Friday.
PC Gregory Speakman said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the man, who are being supported by specially trained officers."
Police said the driver of the car stopped at the scene and was assisting with the investigation.
Mr Speakman appealed for people with dashcam footage or anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
"I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody who has seen a pedestrian in the road, and what direction he was walking," he said.
