Police have confirmed a pedestrian has died after a collision with a car near Tiptree.
The 41-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Tiptree last night.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Officers and ambulance crews were called to a collision between a pedestrian and a car on the B1022 close to Pods Wood at about 9.45pm.
“The pedestrian was treated at the scene but, sadly, the 41-year-old man was pronounced dead by paramedics.
“His family have been informed and we are supporting them at this time.
“The road was temporarily closed and has now reopened.
“We’re asking for anyone with any information about this collision to get in touch quoting incident 1360 of Saturday 6 September.
