A WOMAN has died after being hit by a car in a tourist hotspot near Cirencester.
Emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in Arlington Pike in Bibury just before 12.10pm today (Wednesday, December 10).
Gloucestershire police have now confirmed the pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. They added that her next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.
The force said officers are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or who has relevant dashcam footage to get in contact.

Road closures have been in place at Arlington Pike at the junction for the B4425, Grove View and Hay Lane.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “A woman has died following a serious collision in the Cotswolds this afternoon (Wednesday 10 December).
“Emergency services were called to Arlington Pike in Bibury just before 12.10pm with a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and the driver of a car.

“The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.
“The driver of the car, a man also aged in his 80s, was taken Great Western Hospital in Swindon to be assessed.
“Road closures remain in place on Arlington Pike at the junctions for the B4425, Grove View and Hay Lane while emergency services remain at the scene.
“Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “We were called at 12.10pm on Wednesday, December 10 to a road traffic collision near Bibury.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and an air ambulance to the scene.
“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.”
