Residents in Barry reported what they described on Facebook as a “serious” and “nasty” crash at the Morrisons roundabout earlier today.
South Wales Police have now confirmed it was a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at the Ffordd Y Mileniwm roundabout, near Morrisons, at approximately 3.20pm.
A spokesperson said:
“We can confirm a collision between a car and a pedestrian occurred at the Ffordd Y Mileniwm roundabout, near Morrisons, Barry at approximately 3.20pm today.
The pedestrian has been taken to hospital.
The driver of the car involved in the collision has been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence.”
Locals shared their shock online as emergency services attended the scene.
The condition of the pedestrian has not yet been confirmed.
