An investigation is underway after a person was killed in a crash near the Wilmington Airport in New Castle, Delaware. NBC10’s Neil Fischer has the details.
A person was killed in an overnight crash involving a car and a truck near the Wilmington Airport in New Castle, Delaware.
A witness told NBC10 a tractor trailer and a car were involved in the crash around 1 a.m. in the southbound lanes of North Dupont Highway near the intersection of Christiana Road. Footage from the scene showed a mangled car, broken glass on the road and the back left tire of the truck that was ripped off.

Delaware State Police and the medical examiner transported a person’s body from the scene. Officials have not yet revealed the cause of the crash, any details on the victim or if anyone else was hurt.
The southbound lanes of North Dupont Highway near Christiana Road remain closed.
