Police closed the road near the junction with Brickhouse Lane, close to the popular Dore Moor garden centre, after the collision involving two cars late this morning.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service warned that the road was closed at 10am today, urging people to avoid the area.

Fire crews were initially sent to the scene as as well as officers from South Yorkshire Police
The road was closed in both directions, and a car could be seen appearing to have suffered serious damage and to have ended up in a ditch.
A second car could be seen on the back of a lorry.
Highways workers wearing orange high visibility clothing were working to clear the road, following the incident.
However, despite the serious damage that appeared to have been done to the car, it is believed that no one was seriously injured in the crash.

Emergency services have been approached for more information on the incident.
