Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to the village and an 82-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, an 81-year old man, was taken to hospital for treatment, along with a 75-year old female pedestrian. The road was closed while investigations got underway.
Sergeant Tom Aitken said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I would ask anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to get in touch.”
